Imagine cruising down the road in a convertible, wind in your hair as the top hits play on the radio. Or riding into the sunset on a sleek motorbike, headed for the horizon. Here’s where you can feel like you’re on the set of an 80s’ movie at Dempsey Hill, a rustic getaway and where they’re hosting Motoring Heritage Day 2022.
Featuring vintage classics such as the rare, sleek MG saloon cars of the 50’s, a classy Mercedes W109 sedan, and iconic manufacturers such as Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Volkswagen cars – car enthusiasts and lovers of all things vintage are sure to love the IG-worthy range of antique vehicles showcased in the event.
The centrepiece of the car show is the 1938 MGB and the Triumph Spitfire, both celebrating their 60th anniversary as British open-top sports cars. The showcase will also have vintage motorbikes and bicycles on display for the motorcycle lovers out there, as well as pre-war and post-war models.
What’s more, you can even ride in one of the car show’s many vintage cars and take a scenic drive around Dempsey Hill for only S$20! The car show is also a fundraising drive for the Breast Cancer Foundation, with visitors encouraged to dress in pink in support of the movement.
Apart from the fancy cars, you can also view a digital photography exhibition, Ahead of Time, at the ARTitude Galeria at Dempsey Hill, featuring breast cancer survivors and their stories, captured by prominent Singaporean photographers such as renowned portrait photographer Russel Wong, street photographer Aik Beng Chia, among others.
Slots for the vintage car experience can only be booked on site at the Breast Cancer Foundation’s booth, and the first 100 visitors will receive an exclusive welcome pack, so come early to snag your vintage joyride.
