The three trends in this fall's TrendWatch will be shared via an online webinar, a presentation at High Point Market, Oct. 22-26, and via a digital flipbook.

International Market Centers’ (IMC) celebrated TrendWatch forecast explores the myriad new products at the Fall 2022 High Point Market through three unique themes: Entwine, Midnight and Modernity. Examples of the trends — as presented by exhibitors in IMC’s 17 properties during the October 22-26, 2022 Market — will be presented in a pre-market webinar, a digital flipbook, an onsite seminar and tour and in three onsite product displays.

“From dark and moody to light and pastel with neutrals in between, the Fall 2022 TrendWatch showcases of the range of product available from IMC’s High Point exhibitors,” said Dorothy Belshaw, IMC Executive Vice President, Chief Customer and Marketing Officer. “With so many styles in the marketplace this Fall, TrendWatch is a must-see guide for retailer and designer sourcing.”

Entwine. An homage to casual comfort, quiet moments and favorite spaces. In Entwine, woven natural materials, biophilic design concepts and comforting textiles come together to deliver the feel-goods, clarity and purpose that consumers seek. Relevant product includes furniture and furnishings featuring fresh, intricate and attention-getting woven natural materials; warm wood finishes; indoor/outdoor furniture and furnishings; textiles that soothe and satisfy; decorative accessories; lighting; and wall decor.

Midnight. A dark, stormy night is the inspiration for Midnight, a showcase of deep and moody hues of moon-lit blues and blacks, deep reds and earthy neutrals; burnished metals, especially brass and gold; stone accents; and forms inspired by organic shapes and architectural wonders. Midnight is serious, sophisticated and lasting, but modish, too with lo-fi vibes meeting blockbuster sci-fi throwbacks. Relevant product includes upholstery in warm neutrals; office and entertainment furniture; burnished metals; shapely lighting and accent furniture; textiles in dark hues; and decorative accessories.

Modernity. Pastels continue to prove their power, versatility, charm and appeal in home furnishings, especially in this latest expression: go-to hues for confident, playful interiors. Soft or saturated, and spanning a range from pink and purples to blues and greens, pastels in Modernity are luminous and iridescent, and as energetic as an emerging artist earning influence on a social network. Relevant product includes dining furniture, especially designs featuring matte finishes, glass, and metal; upholstery in fresh neutrals; shapely accent furniture; wall decor; wallcoverings; textiles and area rugs; contemporary lighting; and decorative accessories.

TrendWatch is curated by Julie Smith Vincenti, a design expert with more than 25 years of experience in magazine editing and home furnishings trends forecasting. “The Fall 2022 TrendWatch looks at the top trends shaping the home furnishings industry now. Color, material, and style insights will come to life in the fast-paced programming and three product-packed vignettes,” said Vincenti.

TrendWatch touchpoints for Fall 2022 are online, in-person, and up-close as part of the robust slate of programming by DesignOnHPMKT by IMC – the voice of IMC’s High Point Market.
