The Lexus LF-30 Electrified Concept shows us what we can expect from the brand's future electric vehicles going into the decade.

In 2019, Lexus showcased the LF-30 Electrified concept at the 46th Tokyo Motor Show. This astonishing show car gave us a glimpse of what we can expect from the future models of this luxury car brand of Toyota. In addition, it previewed the general direction Lexus planned to move in terms of its electrified future. It showcased a potent electric powertrain featuring a powerful battery offering an impressive driving range and fast charging capability. Not only this, but it also had a stunning exterior design.

But what captured our attention the most about the Lexus LF-30 was its breathtaking interior. While being made of sustainable materials, it also featured futuristic technology, which according to Lexus, should make its way into the brand's upcoming electric vehicles. Here are a few reasons we believe the Lexus LF-30 Electrified Concept's cabin is groundbreaking!

Lexus says that the cockpit of the LF-30 concept is based on the philosophy of the idea of Tezuna and takes its inspiration from how a single rein acts as a medium for a common understanding between the horse and its rider. Based on this, the controls on the steering wheel of this vehicle and the information displayed on the HUD are coordinated to ensure that the driver has maximum attention on the road and can still operate various vehicular functions. Adding to this are the advanced screens inside the cabin that support gesture control and display vehicle-related information through Augmented reality.

In addition to pampering the driver, the interior of the LF-30 concept also offers a wide array of luxuries to the passengers. For instance, the front passenger gets their own individual infotainment screen that also features gesture control. Furthermore, the rear seats come with artificial muscle technology that molds themselves according to the occupants, offering multiple modes such as recline, relax, and alert, and hence promises to provide a comfortable experience.

The cabin of this Lexus electrified concept also comes with a Mark Levinson sound system with special speakers in the headrests. They not only enhance the audio experience but also feature noise cancellation technology and hence help in making the cabin quieter. Another exciting feature of the Lexus LF-30's cabin is its glass roof. The part directly above the rear passengers acts as a screen and comes with voice and gesture controls. Using augmented reality, this screen can be used as a display to show various vehicle-related information, navigation, and even videos.

Apart from being feature-loaded, the interior of the LF-30 Electrified Concept also takes care of the environment by extensively using various sustainable materials. For example, this show car's floor and steering wheel have been made from charred cedar, a traditional Japanese material. In addition, this car's door trims were made using recycled metal, which has been processed as fibers.

In addition to offering a luxurious cabin loaded with modern technology, the LF-30 promises to deliver an enjoyable driving experience. For instance, this electric concept pledges to come with enhanced handling characteristics thanks to the positioning of electric motors on each wheel and a battery layout that ensures a lower center of gravity. In addition, this concept car comes with steer-by-wire technology. The automaker says that it not only offers better steering dynamics but also allows the flexibility of the steering wheel to move out of the way in the case of autonomous driving.

Another advanced feature of this concept car by Lexus is its onboard AI, which can distinguish between its occupants' voices. In sync with the information stored on the driver's key, this AI can configure the cabin according to each individual. This will be done by altering the cabin temperature, the audio settings, and navigation. Furthermore, it can also change various vehicle driving dynamics, such as suspension and powertrain settings, to offer an even more customizable experience to its occupants.

If this is not enough, the Lexus LF-30 has one more trick up its sleeve. It comes with its drone, the 'Lexus Airporter.' This drone, which works with the help of autonomous control, can be used to ferry your luggage from your doorstep to the boot of this car.

The LF-30 concept also previews the Lexus Teammate autonomous driving technology. For instance, it comes with various driver assistance features such as Chauffeur and Guardian modes. It even has a self-parking function and a 'front-door pickup' function. The latter allows this car to autonomously drive from the owner's driveway to their front gate. Though this distance is not that huge, and the automaker has not specified if the same function can be used over longer distances, such as supermarket parking lots, it indeed allows for enhanced convenience.
