Amazon's first physical clothing store, Amazon Style, will open a location at Easton Town Center. To be located in the former Forever 21 space, it's the second Amazon Style brick-and-mortar store after the first opened in May in Glendale, California.

The store will feature men's and women's clothing, shoes and accessories, new and long-standing brands such as Calvin Klein, Lacoste and Levi, and some Amazon brands that will be in store for the first time, said the company.

Amazon Style's selection will be informed by the company's fashion curators and feedback from customers, while technology and operations used in Amazon's fulfillment centers will create a "personalized and convenient shopping experience," according to the company.

Amazon Style also makes use of new technologies built for the retail experience, including Amazon Style's mobile shopping function in the company's shopping app, which allows customers to scan items with a QR code to send clothing to a fitting room or directly to a pickup counter to purchase.

The Amazon Style store in California displays one piece of each item of clothing, according to accounts of the store.

Customers can also shop from their fitting rooms using in-room touchscreens, which can be used to request additional sizes, colors and styles delivered to their room in minutes, or view personalized recommendations.

"We're delighted to be part of the Columbus community and offer customers a new and innovative way to shop their favorite looks from Amazon in person," said Monica Ravi, director of operations for Amazon Style.

The company is hiring employees for the Amazon Style store, which is set to open later this year. 

The 26,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Forever 21 at Easton has been vacant for a few years following the brand's 2019 bankruptcy. The space was one of the center's larger vacancies.
