Several NFL Fans have a distinct love for their memorabilia. Especially when they have something exclusive and signed by the NFL GOAT, Tom Brady. However, a fan is now seeking legal action against the New England Patriots Hall of Famer. They cost him nearly $1 Million after doing irreplaceable damages to a TB12-signed US Flag.

The US flag had a conspicuous place in the Patriots’ memorabilia section. They displayed the flag at the Gillette Stadium’s HOF section for months. However, when Pats fan Daniel Vitale got it back, he was heartbroken.

As per ESPN, Daniel Vitale mentioned, “I am a die-hard Patriots fan and have been for 40 years. That flag was so significant to me because it was right after 9/11 and it was the last regular-season game at Foxboro Stadium.”

When the fan received the flag, the blue sharpie initials by Tom Brady had faded. It led to the lessening of the collectible’s value. According to the lawsuit, the monetary damage might range from several hundred thousand dollars to $1 million.

Vitale claims in his lawsuit that the flag was incredibly uncommon. It flew over Foxboro Stadium during a Patriots-Dolphins game in 2001. The QB1 signed it a few years later. Vitale believes it is the only known American flag autographed by TB12 in existence.

The superfan loaned the flag to the Patriots Hall of Fame in June 2021. He wanted it back a few months later because he expected its worth would increase. After all, TB12 was contemplating retirement. Vitale’s youngest daughter suffered from autism, and the family desired to hire a full-time nanny to care for her.

According to Daniel Vitale’s lawsuit, the illumination at the Hall of Fame and the glass on the display cabinet could not safeguard autographed sports memorabilia. Furthermore, there was a visible breach in the glass display, which is directly in front of the flag. It could allow unfiltered heat and light to enter through.

It is obvious that the Patriots superfan was devastated to see an important piece of memorabilia losing its value. While the Patriots said they would handle it with care, some images shared by  Marca  do not seem so. So far, nobody from the New England administration commented on the situation.
